Dr. Sherryl Broverman

Sherryl is a social entrepreneur and leader in science education reform, particularly for historically excluded groups. She is the Founder of both the WISER NGO and WISER Intl, and is the  Chair of the joint board. Sherryl is also a professor at Duke University in the Biology Department and the Duke Global Health Institute. Sherryl is a Senior Fellow with the National Center for Science and Civic Engagement, an international community to improve STEM education ad civic engagement. Sherryl’s commitment to science education and civic engagement has been recognized by Duke University with the David and Janet von Brooks Award for Distinguished Teaching in the Sciences, the Dean’s Award for Diversity, and the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award for excellence of character and service to humanity. She has also received the William E. Bennett Award for Extraordinary Contributions to Civic Engagement from the National Center for Science and Civic Engagement.
