WISER Named a Winner of 2018 Girl Fund Campaign

The GlobalGiving Girl Fund has only existed for two years. In both 2017 and 2018, hundreds of nonprofits fought to earn a spot in the fund by winning a highly-competitive fundraising campaign.

As of Friday, WISER is now 2 for 2.

After a record-breaking 512 donors made a donation in support of the WISER girls between March 1st and 15th, WISER has been named one of the six organizations that will enter the 2018 GlobalGiving Girl Fund. It is also one of only two organizations to do so in back-to-back years.

Fast Facts about the 2018 Girl Fund Campaign:

  • WISER was one of only two organizations to win a spot in the 2018 Girl Fund after also winning the competition in 2017.
  • The 521 donors that made a gift during this year’s campaign are part of the largest-ever total for a repeat Girl Fund winner.
  • Compared to 2017, this year’s campaign raised $8,000 more in donations and saw 80 more individuals contribute.
  • Out of 164 organizations, WISER finished with the 2nd-highest number of individual donors.

As a member of the Girl Fund, WISER has earned the honor of yet again being designated a high-impact girls’ organization on GlobalGiving.org. WISER is joined in the 2018 Girl Fund by fellow returning organization Timeout for Africa, located in Nigeria, as well as Days for Girls International in Nepal and Soccer Without Borders in Nicaragua. The WISER team will also work with GlobalGiving staff to evaluate and choose two additional high-impact organizations that will be invited to join the fund based on merit.

We are thrilled to share this exciting news with the entire WISER Family and grateful to each and every person that “cast a vote” for WISER with their donation! Your gifts have made history happen (literally) and this success would not be possible without your help.
