After an incredible 440 donors chose to support WISER over the span of only two weeks, WISER has been named one of the six organizations that will enter the inaugural GlobalGiving Girl Fund.
The Girl Fund, established in March 2017, supports highly effective projects that provide education, health care, and access to training and job skills so that girls around the world can thrive – making a difference in their lives and their communities. The fund seeks each year to provide nearly $20,000 in additional support to organizations it deems effective, accountable, and life-changing for girls.
To earn entry into the fund, organizations were asked to demonstrate the “power of their crowd” by collecting as many donations as possible from March 1-15.
Out of 149 eligible organizations, WISER’s global family of supporters helped WISER earn the #3 spot overall.
As a member of the Girl Fund, WISER has earned the honor of being designated a high-impact girls’ organization on GlobalGiving.org. WISER is joined in the inaugural Girl Fund by Rock-Paper-Scissors Children’s Fund in Vietnam, Timeout for Africa in Nigeria, and the Mariposa DR Foundation in the Dominican Republic, as well as two organizations to be named.
We are incredibly grateful to each and every person that “cast a vote” for WISER with their donation during this campaign. Your gifts have made a tremendous difference and we could not be in the Girl Fund without you!
