Meet Levender: “WISER came at the right time. I am now able to predict my future.”

LevenderComing from a family of 12, things have not always been easy for Levender.  Despite passing the KCPE the first time around, she did not have enough money to attend secondary school and was forced to retake Class 8 and the exam the following year. Luckily, as Levender puts it, “WISER came at the right time! I am now able to predict my future and am able to see that there is a change in my family.  Almost all girls were not able to reach this extent I’ve reached.”  Prior to joining WISER, Levender thought she would have to get married because “so long as you’re not going to school, the next thing is marriage.”  Now, however, Levender is confident about her future and the future of her community.  She hopes to study medicine to improve the local health care system and believes that, “WISER will make Muhuru Bay known not only in Kenya but even worldwide. In the next ten years there will be great change here!”
