Partner Resources
Each WISER Partner School will work with a Duke University student to help develop a personalized fundraising strategy. He or she will also provide any further informational materials about Muhuru Bay (eg. Photos, letters, or videos) that your student group may need for meeting with donors or putting on events to raise funds for a girl’s scholarship. Once your school raises the target $1,000 for the first year and commits to doing so for the next three years, you will be recognized as an official WISER Partner School. You will then have the opportunity to stay in contact with the recipient of your scholarship and engage in a cross-continental exchange of ideas, culture, and empowerment over one girl’s four years at WISER
If you have already decided to become a WISER Partner High School, congratulations and welcome! Please follow the next three steps to get started!
- 1. Send your Partner School Agreement to WISER at Duke University (address included within the agreement) along with an email to wiser@duke.edu
- 2. Within 14 days, you will be contacted by your WISER Duke University Student mentor and receive your WISER Partner High School ID Number that will ensure all of your fundraising efforts go towards your high school’s scholarship at WISER.

Fundraising Basics
You are welcome to begin fundraising for your WISER girl’s scholarship right away! Please be sure to send in you Partner School Agreement as soon as possible to receive your WISER Partner High School ID Number to ensure all your fundraising is put towards your scholarship fund for WISER.
Collecting Donations:
- a. All donations to WISER are tax-deductible.
Our tax ID number is 56-053-2129. - b. All checks should be made payable to Duke-WISER.
- c. All cash donations should be collected into one envelope, which has clearly written on it where the money has been collected and to whom we should send a thank you note.
- d. All Credit Card or Bank Draft donations must use this link (http://www.giftrecords.duke.edu/index.cfm) and note in the ‘designations’ field that it is for WISER Partner HS Program 399-9129.
Sending Donations to WISER:
All Donations should be sent directly by mail to the office of WISER’s accountant at the following address. Please include the WISER Partners Donations Report (included in packet) with any donations you send to be put toward your school’s scholarship.
